Product+ shots

I spent the last few days messing around in the studio to create something that could be used for multiple purposes, each with their own benefits. We know product shots sell better when they are in an environment. Think staging a house (always sells quicker) because the customer doesn’t have to imagine where or how the product fits into their life.

But as a companies SKU’s grow, so does the need to simplify. Regrettably, they often lose that sense of place by over simplifying on 50% gray backgrounds for product shots.

So, I thought a 360-degree image would be great way to show the product from all angles & also set it in an editorial environment that’s interesting to the customer. Here, I used a Jordan 0.1 shoe, but it could be anything. From a watch, to a person or car. The key being the camera moves not the product, and that it’s in an editorial setting rather than on white or gray. I was trying this out for fun and while it needs some refinement, it’s getting there. Try this: Drag & click to move

The next step is trying this with a 360-degree green screen and seeing if I can put that object into a AR Environment. So with just one asset, the product can be a fun editorial gif to catch a customers interest, to a customer control 360 view product shot, or to an AR object for the customer to explore.

Just a thought.
